Although this week was progressive, there were a couple difficulties that my team encountered. The culture probe kits that we design were given to the Vietnamese Friendship Association as of last Friday. The person that I was in contact with took the week off because of vacation, so we had a problem in that we lost one participant. However, we were fortunate to have another employee replace her. The organization plans to have the kits done by Saturday (4/23) at the latest, so that I could pick it up in time for Tuesday’s analysis. Based on what I’ve said, it’s clear that my team and the Vietnamese Friendship Association have done a lot of contacting back and forth (Which is great!)

During class, the readings were focused to help us learn the importance of structuring interviews. The most important concept I grasp was to build up the questions you construct. This is significant because you need to build a momentum to the question you ask. If you start an interview by asking a difficult question, the interviewee might be overwhelm and unable to answer the question to he/she/there fullest ability. Although it wasn’t mention in the reading, also think that it’s important to introduce yourself with gender pronouns. It’s a good practice and you can never assume a person’s gender by their front cover. Aside from that, our group, StarForce has worked very well as a team, contacting each other when we are in need of help and scheduling google hangout’s when we don’t finish something in class. I love the way our team is working right now because the problem’s we’ve encountered have been dealt with ease. The next steps we need to take are to pick up the kits and accomplish the analysis. It’s important that my team finishes this with ASAP because the assignments we have in IMD 352 will take a majority of the week. To sum it up, we need to continue this healthy pace of a constant communication like the other weeks so that these assignments are finished to the best of our ability.
